Day 5 FALL!!!

Hello all!! Yeah we made it to day 5! LOL  I wonder how I will be able to keep up with this, go back to work Monday , cake orders are flying in and KIDS! LOL  (Ok challenge # 15 of this 30day challenge for me,,lol)
This morning I woke up with a huge headache, and was thankful for the 10 minutes of peace and quiet in the house. All the kids were sacked out (boys spent the night and were all over the couch and Lexie slept with momma) Coffee made I went on the front porch and just about froze my butt off it was so chilly!! But looking out over my neighborhood I once again noticed the beauty around me with all the leaves changing.
This is my FAVORITE season!!! I am in LOVE with COLOR! Fall Colors to be exact! I wish this season would last about 6 months! LOL It gets me geared up to plan some winter projects, I love to crochet in the winter! And I tend to paint more in the "color" seasons (fall and spring)
Sigh,, when did life get sooooo busy????
Anyway, I sat down at the computer with squares all ready planned out today and thought,, I don't want to do that one today! I need some FALL in this challenge!!!!
So here is what we are going to do today. A FALL Maple Leaf!!! I want COLOR People!!! I want to see Reds, Yellows, Greens, browns, and Oranges!!!
I sat down and searched!, Would you believe I found a site right off the bat? Here is the link and pattern.
http://www.momsloveofcrochet.com/MapleLeafAfghan.html  She will get you started, but just in case you are an old pro, here is the graph. (BTW, I LOVE THIS AFGHAN!! I can see it on the back of our couch soon!)

Have you ever done "graphed crochet"? Its easy! Alot of my crochet buddies are soo scared to try, but if you can single crochet and aren't afraid to change colors in the middle of a stitch and don't mind all the strings hanging down, you will LOVE this! I have made so many beautiful afghans using a graph. here is one I did for my nephew. all in single crochet.
Almost any cross stitch pattern can be crocheted into a graphed afghan!!

Here is a tutorial to show you how to change colors if you need.

Finally,,, Here is my Square :)
